<strong> We knew it would happen. The number of covid patients in the hospital has increased, several in critical care.</strong> The critical care doctors are asking for different treatments, all experimental, but more or less a desperate grasp at anything that might save a life. There is more data now than there was during the first surge, however, it is somewhat daunting to provide medication for a patient that you just have no idea if it will help or not. There are no absolutes with this. <strong> I guess this is what it was like with the plague, yellow fever, influenza, smallpox, polio, AIDS. Eventually, there is a treatment or a cure. But the toll until then is, unfortunately, unmerciful.</strong>
