<strong> This week, my 85-year-old mom had a fall and was hospitalized overnight (17 staples in her head).</strong> She was taken to the nearest trauma center, which is an urban one. I was surprised to find that <strong>I was not allowed to visit her, despite the fact that we are both fully vaccinated</strong> and I also serve as her healthcare power of attorney. Anyway, she was quite frail and needed someone with her when she went home.<strong> I lived with her for a few days until my sister could come up to care for her. Not an ideal situation, since my sister is NOT vaccinated and doesn't intend to be.</strong> But there are no alternatives, so we need to take our chances.
